For parents
Does your teen use Lanti, or are you thinking of trying it as a family? Here, simply, is what the app does, what it doesn’t do, and what happens to the data.
At a glance
- Lanti is for teens aged 12 and up, adults and families. It is not an app for children.
- Lanti is neither therapy nor an emergency service, and makes no health promises.
- The SOS button is always one tap away, free and with no barrier: a trusted adult first, then support lines.
- No ads, no analytics, and nothing written in the app is sent to the developer.
- No purchases can be made on Apple TV, and care stays free forever.
Who is Lanti for?
Lanti is for teens aged 12 and up, adults and families. It is not an app designed for young children, and we don’t try to attract them.
A younger child can enjoy it with you, for example in the evening in the Living Room on Apple TV: Lanti appears on the big screen, and you can breathe together, share your inner weather with the remote or listen to a bedtime story.
The age rating will be the one Apple calculates and shows on the App Store.
What Lanti does
Lanti offers a small ritual that takes a few seconds and is never required:
- sharing your inner weather (storm, rain, clouds, clearing or sun): each day becomes a row of Lanti’s scarf;
- checking off small everyday steps, like drinking a glass of water or writing to someone;
- writing in a journal, if you feel like it;
- breathing slowly with Lanti;
- finding help with the SOS button.
Lanti never punishes: Lanti never dies, never leaves and never sulks after an absence. Streaks are off by default, and no notification ever scolds.
What Lanti doesn’t do
- Lanti is not therapy, not a medical device and not an emergency service. The app makes no diagnosis and replaces neither a professional nor the presence of an adult.
- We make no promise about health, sleep or mood. Lanti is a wellbeing companion: calm moments and simple gestures.
- Lanti doesn’t chat: no artificial intelligence answers, and the app doesn’t use the microphone.
- There is no social feed, no leaderboard and no messages from other people.
The SOS button
On the app’s home screen, the SOS button is always visible. It is free, needs no account, and we have put no barrier in front of it: in a hard moment, a young person must be able to ask for help without waiting.
SOS offers a short breathing exercise, 5-4-3-2-1 grounding and your country’s help lines, already in the app, so they show even without a connection. On iPhone, it first invites under-18s to talk to a trusted adult: a parent, a grandparent, someone at school. Then come support lines for young people, when the country has one (for example Childline in the UK or Kids Help Phone in Canada). The emergency number always stays visible.
Lanti doesn’t know whether a call was made and alerts no one, neither you nor us. Numbers for a few countries are also on the Support page.
If you are worried about your child, take time to talk together, and don’t hesitate to ask a professional for advice. In immediate danger, call your local emergency services.
Data
- No ads, no trackers, no analytics and no third-party SDKs in the app.
- No account to create. Nothing written or chosen in the app is sent to the developer.
- Data stays on the device and, when iCloud is on, syncs through the person’s private iCloud database, which we cannot read.
- The journal can be locked with Face ID, Touch ID or the device passcode.
- On a locked screen, Lanti’s widgets hide the day’s weather.
- In the Living Room, Apple TV shows the scarf of the iCloud account signed in on the TV, never the journal. Inner weather shared with the remote is added to that account’s scarf.
- If the person has agreed in the device settings, Apple may send us crash reports and anonymized usage statistics. This comes from Apple, not from a Lanti tracker.

Purchases
- Care stays free forever: inner weather, journal, small steps, breathing, SOS, reminders and accessibility settings.
- Lanti Plus is optional, as a subscription or a one-time purchase, through the App Store. The details are in the terms of use.
- No purchases can be made on Apple TV.
- Lanti never suggests Plus unprompted during or just after an SOS or a breathing session, on a day when the inner weather is rain or storm, or before the end of the first day.
- Seeds, the app’s little in-game currency, are earned by taking care of yourself and can never be bought. There are no loot boxes and no paid draws.
- With Apple’s Family Sharing, Ask to Buy lets you approve a child’s purchases.
Talking about it together
Inner weather gives simple words to talk about how you feel: “a bit stormy today”, “some rain”, “clearing up”. It isn’t a method, just an open door. And everyone is free to keep their weather to themselves.
